Eight years ago we sold, gave away and got rid if 90% of our possessions including our house, cars etc to make a big life change. Our youngest of four sons had just finished high school and we moved to Nicaragua. We lived there for six years and started a socisl and environmental impact business – bamboo plantations and bamboo housing for indigenous people who lost thei Hines to hurricane Mitch four years earlier.most of it is in our blog which we started initially for friends and family.

After that adventure we hit the road this time in SEAsia with a small suitcase and backpack each. We lived in Viet Nam for five months, spent time in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Sri Lanka. We blogged about it and are still writing about our empty nester adventures.

It’s challenging and rewarding in many ways. We recently spent 8 months back in Chicago to be near to my parents and 2 of our 4 sons for a while.
